Faux Finishes have been around forever. They are awesome because they add depth, texture, and drama to the walls in your house. Some finishes can be very subtle, while others command attention.

Faux Bricks
I get a lot of requests for faux bricks and breakaways with bricks showing through. This is a nice archway enhanced with faux bricks. Then we have an arched passthrough into a kitchen with smaller bricks.

  
Below we have some bricks peaking through some cracking plaster. When I was loading up I actually saw the owner backing up and then walking forward to touch them to see if they were real.
 

Colorwash
This particular faux was done on a fairly smooth wall and used two shades of brown. It really makes the accessories pop in this room.
